It has been well documented that swimming is a great low impact exercise suitable for people who have prior joint injuries or we are unable to engage in high intensity exercises.

BEGINNER LEVEL

  • Assessment of prior injuries, medical records and other health conditions

  • Working with the student on a customised programme for recovery

  • Water Safety and Confidence (if applicable) 

  • Body positioning and body buoyancy

  • Breathing techniques

  • One customised swimming style according to student profile

  • Evaluation  and recording of student's recovery at the end of the level 

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

  • Customising recovery programme based on preliminary results from the beginner level 

  • Revision of swimming styles

  • 2 new swimming styles customised to the level of fitness and recovery

  • Stroke correction

  • Evaluation and recording of student's recovery at the end of the level

MAINTENANCE LEVEL

  • Post evaluation

  • Maintenance and improvement based on current knowledge of swimming

  • Swimming exercises to improve muscular strength and stamina

  • Option: Students have the option to transition to the adults/ladies programme if the instructor feels that the student is ready to do so
